Charlotte and Ruth work with two of the Yukon's natural resources from the Placer Gold Mining Industry.
Charlotte creates her pieces using Yukon placer gold, which is gold recovered from alluvial gravel deposits. The natural gold nuggets are highlighted when soldered into highly polished rings, bracelets and earrings. Her models are cast into 10 karat and 14 karat yellow or white gold as well as sterling silver. Gold nuggets remain in their natural shapes and are personally selected for each unique piece of jewelry. Nuggets assay as high as 92% pure. Each piece of jewelery's authenticity is certified.
Ruth creates her pieces using beads made from woolly mammoth ivory, recovered in the Yukon, while gold placer mining. The Woolly Mammoth has been extinct for at least 10,000 years. Ruth enhances the (fossil) ivory with dinosaur bone beads, meteorite, garnets and other gems and minerals to create one-of-a-kind necklaces and earrings.
